The target audience is mainly aimed at young males as the opening sequence as it is very masculine and females would not seem to be very attracted towards it, as all the characters male and the only times females are used are as victims or as in a sexist way. The masculinity of it all makes it more targeted towards the young males as it follows the characteristics of the male target film as there are hard hitting special affects, such as large explosions and conventions such as drugs and a stock character of a confident working age male with a cockney accent which appeals to the males as they wish to relate to these.
The narrative is organised and structured in the way it has as it is giving the introduction first so that there is basic background knowledge to know what is going to be expected further into the film, but enigmatic enough not to give it away, such as in the opening sequence it is giving them a brief history about him and drugs progessing through the years and different social cultures and then the end of the opening sequence it ends with him giving himself a brief introduction so nothing is given away. The audience is positioned as they are being told something which they are oblivious to know what is goign on in the underworld of gangs, so the opening is basic enough for them to understand, however it is keeping to the conventions of gangster. So they are leaving sterotypical gangster attitudes there which the audience will understand. Tension is created from the large explosion from the start which is a major impact, the way it is maintained is the constant movement of the camera and the upbeat music, the camera does not once stop for one second so there is a flow.

Similar Products - rise of the foot soldier
This location used in the torture scene in rise of the foot soldier is the same kind of indoor location I would like to use in the first scene to our film opening. I think its a good location because its a very bleak, empty warehouse which sets the scene well for a crime about to be comitted. It also suggests to the viewer that the film is taking place in an urban area which is where the film will be set and gangs typically operate in towns and cities. The torture scene in 'Rise of the foot soldier' is filmed in dark, cold colours, and although our opening scene will not be a torture, I think its a very good idea as it creates a more chilling atmosphere and this technique would darken the mood of the film.

Evaluation - Molly Muckle
The research you have done is good on the timings of the Juno opening and the music for 28 weeks later but i think you could do a bitmore research onto the actual film itself and genres of film. You could do with a few more posts on storyboarding and actors etc but what you have is good.. "safeee"

Synopsis Discussion
We have decided that our film will be produced in the genre of action/crime. The film will start with an excecution in a deserted warehouse committed by members of a gang, followed by flashbacks explaining the reason for the excecution.

Timelining, storyboarding and re-creating this opening title scene for 'Juno' will help me with timing, storyboarding and creating my own titles in the opening scene to a film, making it look more profesional and avoiding cramming the titles into the start or end of the opening scene to my film. Recording the timing of the titles will also help me time my titles to music in the opening to a film.

Similar Products - 28 Weeks Later
I like the way music has been used in this opening scene for '28 weeks later'. It is very typical of a thriller as it builds a lot of tension because of the very slow paced and unpredictable notes with no distinguished rythem/ tempo. At the end of the scene the volume increases suddenly and the music changes which draws in the attention of the viewer.

Preliminary task
Last lesson me, Harrison, Molly and Dean filmed our preliminary task in school. We filmed in an empty classroom and used a variety of different shots and techniques to compose our short film. At the start I filmed Harrison walking upto the door of the room using a mid shot of his head and torso. As he opens the door I used match on action in order to give different perspectives of him entering the room and to focus attention on him walking into the room. As he came in I used a low shot on Dean to show he is an important and intimidating character and then an extreem close up of Harrisons eyes to show his fear of Dean. Then when they both sat down at the table, I used the 180 degree rule to film the conversation between the two. I used match on action again when Harrison took a phone from Dean in order for the focus to be on the handover. Finally I used framing, filming through the shape of a love heart, focusing on Harrison and Dean getting up and leaving to show the relationship between the two at the end of the film.
